Military vehicles will be on display in Mesa, and classic cars are just part of the fun at the Melrose Street Fair in Phoenix. In San Tan Valley, American Legion Post 97 will hold a a public-safety fair and a cruise-in with first-responder vehicles. A farmers market and a display of trucks, cars and even golf carts will be on display in Surprise, and you can learn about motorcycle safety and see a stunt rider perform in Glendale.

Cruise-in for Vets Car & Bike Show

American Legion Post 97 and its Legion Riders present their second annual car and bike show of classic and custom cars, street rods, motorcycles, trucks and military vehicles. Held at the same time is a Community Public Safety and First Responders Fair featuring first responders, fire engines, ambulances, helicopters, SWAT teams, a K-9 search-and-rescue unit and government agencies and organizations. There will be DJ music, raffle prizes, dental screenings, giveaways and a kids zone with bounce houses, slides, games and demonstrations. Vendors will sell merchandise and food. Vehicle registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Awards will go to first, second and third place in 17 trophy classes at 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit veteran and youth programs.

Melrose Street Fair

Hundreds of local artists showcase their work at the outdoor fair featuring more than 150 vendor booths, food trucks, a beer garden, kids area and live entertainment. Stroll by Chester's Classic Car Show where more than 200 antique, classic and vintage cars will be on display.

Sun City Grand Car Show & Farmers Market

Trucks, cars and even golf carts are welcome at this car show from Nancy Perry Productions. While you stroll amid the vehicles, listen to music from live bands and a DJ, and shop for goodies at the farmers market and grab a bite from vendors. Awards will be presented in two-dozen classes.

Riding for the Long Haul

The first motorcycle-safety consortium at Community Church of Joy in Glendale is designed to reduce motorcycle accidents and fatalities. Interactive education, safety gear, raffle prizes, food and music are featured, and trail-bike stunt rider Bryan Roper will perform. Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers is among the speakers. Hosted by HealthSouth Rehabilitation and the Arizona Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Foundation. Proceeds will help provide motorcycle training and certification scholarships.

Southwest Military Transport Show

The Arizona Historical Military Transport Association will present its 11th show at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Mesa. See more than 60 antique military vehicles from World War II, Korea and Vietnam, most meticulously restored by members with original equipment. The museum's vintage aircraft also will be on display, and there will be a swap meet with collectibles and vehicle parts for sale.
