Why do rude people leave shopping carts scattered about?

Would it really be that much trouble to roll the cart to the corral?

Sometimes a picture says so much more than words. This is one of those.

Someone was too busy, too important, or just plain too rude to roll this shopping cart to the cart corral just a few feet away. Anyone wanting to park here had to be careful not to scratch their car against the cart.

But I've seen worse, like the cart left just to the side of the corral. Can you be more lazy?

Or the three carts left in a handicapped parking space. Sure, those spaces are often empty, but when someone needs them, they need them. Why are some people so inconsiderate?

I've often wondered about these people: Were they raised by their mothers to be rude, or did they develop it on their own?
