  • High Street is getting 11 new tenants.
  • The mixed-use development has been expanding since new ownership took over in April 2013.
  • New tenants include Sprouts%27 headquarters.

The High Street mixed-use development is adding 11 new tenants in the first quarter of the new year.

High Street is adding 11 new tenants.

Heading the list is Sprouts Farmers Market's corporate headquarters, which will take up three floors of office space.

Among the other new retail, office, restaurant and service tenants are a Sprouts store, a barbershop, a vacation rental company and tea shop. Tenants are slated to open during the first quarter of 2015 at the development, which is at Loop 101 and Arizona 51 in northeast Phoenix.

Formerly called CityCenter of CityNorth, the 628,000-square-foot development struggled during the recession. It was purchased in April 2013 by Portland-based real estate merchant banking firm ScanlanKemperBard Companies and Wayzata Investment Partners.

"Since the new ownership took over, 33 businesses have signed leases to move onto the property, expand their footprint or renew their lease," development spokeswoman Leslie Himley said. They total 245,000 square feet of retail and office space, she said.

"The whole vibe of the property has changed for the positive since the new ownership purchased the property and has dramatically turned the development around," she said.

Traffic and sales are up during the day and evening, she said. In addition to office and retail tenants, High Street also contains 99 luxury rental apartments.

Because the development is beginning to get low on office space, the center's management is looking at future construction of a second phase, which will contain an additional 212,500 square feet, she said.

In addition to Sprouts, new tenants include:

- Pinspiration, where customers of all ages can create art and crafts projects

- AZ Vacation Rentals, a company that manages local rental properties

- Tea2Go, which sells 120 flavors of tea.

- M3V Nail Bar, which offers nail services and beverage bar at one price.

- Firehouse Subs restaurant.

- Barbershop Jack, a full-service, upscale, barbershop.
