Hundreds of jobs at more than a dozen award-winning companies are available for qualified women candidates at a Scottsdale job fair Tuesday.

BestCompaniesAZ's annual Career Event for Women is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West, 3830 N. Marshall Way in Scottsdale.

The free event requires advance registration at: http://bit.ly/BCAZWomensEvent415.

The job fair features a speaker at 3 p.m., Nicole Corning, author of "The Working Mommy's Manual."

Positions available include those in finance, IT, engineering, health care, customer service/client relations, sales and hospitality.

The companies seeking to fill positions must have earned at least one prestigious state and national workplace award to participate, BestCompanyAZ's news release said.

They made such lists as Arizona's Most Admired Companies, CareerBuilder's Top Companies to Work for in Arizona, Arizona's Best Companies to Watch, Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in America, Fortune Most Admired Companies, Military Times Best for Vets Employers, US Veterans magazine's Best of the Best and other "military-friendly" company lists.

Participating companies include Charles Schwab, Dignity Health Arizona, Synchrony Financial, USAA, GoDaddy, Hyatt Regency-Phoenix, Medtronic, Vanguard, ClearCall Solutions and Enterprise.

"If you're feeling stalled in your career, looking to change direction or are returning after a leave, exploring starting positions at choice companies might be worth considering," Denise Gredler, CEO of BestCompaniesAZ, said in a news release.

Starting and lateral positions can grow into management roles as employees "learn the culture, develop new skills and build relationships," Grederler said.

Amazon.com describes Corning's book, "The Working Mommy's Manual," as "a manual for working mothers to achieve their own work-life balance. Real, raw, and funny — you will feel empowered and capable of having it all after reading."

Chapters include: Stay At Home Moms Are Not The Enemy, Sex: Just Do It, and Mothers and Mothers-In-Law: Where Do I Start?

Here's an excerpt: "Being a working mom is the most crazy, amazing, powerful, frustrating, loving experience you will ever have in your entire life. And I am here to tell you that you can do it! But you will never do it perfectly. Throw perfect out of your vocabulary. Just toss it out the window and keep on driving, because, sister, it ain't an option for you anymore. We've been fed a huge pack of lies."
