Azcentral takes over Oasis on Grand for Phoenix Art Detour
We're going BIG.
Artlink Phoenix just kicked off its Art Detour event with the Art d'Core Gala at Crescent Ballroom, and azcentral was there gearing up for our biggest takeover yet.
After a toast and a few fist pumps from Mayor Greg Stanton, who spoke about the rise of Phoenix culture and the growth of its economy, we started to get our hands dirty with turning the enormous Oasis on Grand gallery into our home for the Art Detour weekend.
That's right, three whole days of art awesomeness.
In addition to our live-portrait studio, which you've come to know and love, we'll also be displaying large prints of The Republic photographers' best work.

Our photo staff has more than 200 years of combined experience photographing Arizona, covering some of the biggest sporting, political and entertainment events as well as capturing the beauty that is uniquely our Arizona landscape, and now you'll be able to see them big, bold and in your face.
The best part is — for the first time — you can buy the work of our photographers. Prints showcasing Arizona's beauty will be on site for purchase, plus if you see something you like hanging on the wall, you can order it and have it shipped to your home.
And subscribers will have an an opportunity to win one of three giant prints to take home.
We're also thrilled to highlight the incredible work done by you — yes, you — with a digital gallery of photos from the #AZ365 community. We'll have your photos on display, and we invite you to take part in our print exchange. Bring a photo to leave and take one home with you.
How to join the AZ365 photo project
It's a great way to get your work out there, pick up an interesting new shot and meet some of the artists and photographers in your community who are posting the favorite photos you 'Like' every day.
Fun for the family
Kids, don't feel left out! We'll have a craft table to entertain those future Picassos of the family.
Plus, we'll be featuring live music, DJ Grayson throwing down some sick beats on Friday and appearances from our newsroom personalities and maybe a surprise or two. As always, photographers will be there to offer tips of the trade, talk with fans and fellow photographers or snap a selfie. (Yes they're guilty of it, too.)
When: March 6-8, beginning First Friday and continuing through Art Detour weekend. 6-10 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Where: Oasis on Grand, 1501 W. Grand Ave., Phoenix.
Admission: Free.
Parking: Public parking is available in the lot directly across from Oasis on Grand. There also is a trolley stop at the gallery. Pick up your Art Detour map to plan out your visit.
