The Arizona Game and Fish Department “Outdoor Recreation Night” before the Diamondbacks-Cubs game at Chase Field Saturday, May 23 will give young anglers a chance to learn fishing skills at a catch-and-release pond like this one.

Arizona Game and Fish and the Arizona Diamondbacks are teaming up to present Outdoor Recreation Night this weekend.

The street fair is from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Fourth and Jackson streets just west of Chase Field. The Diamondbacks take on the Chicago Cubs at 7:10 p.m.

Here's what you can do at the free event:

- Fish in a catch-and-release pond filled with bluegill. Poles and bait are provided.

- Take a few shots in the BB gun or archery range.

- See reptiles and other wildlife on display.

- Learn about wildlife organizations, outdoor retailers and more at vendor booths.

Game and Fish will hand out trading cards featuring — what else? — a Western diamondback rattlesnake. The purchase of a special-event package includes a game ticket and an ear-flap camouflage Diamondbacks cap.

Tickets purchased through group sales benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, which will donate part of the proceeds to Wildlife for Tomorrow, which works to enhance protection, management and enjoyment of Arizona's wildlife.
