Most of us love french fries. But how many of us would crawl through the streets in search of spectacular spuds?

Flip Isard and Braden Jones own Frites Street food truck, which serves Belgian-style pommes frites. The fries are thick-cut, twice-cooked and come with sauces other than plain old ketchup.

Flip Isard and Braden Jones from Frites Street food truck are betting there are enough fry fanatics in the Valley that they're hosting a Fry Crawl caravan tour around Phoenix on Thursday, May 28. The goal: To eat as many fries as possible from four spots that Isard and Jones have deemed the best.

That includes Welcome Diner and Cafe at Public Market in downtown Phoenix, plus Christopher's at Biltmore Fashion Park and the Gladly nearby.

Frites Street will be dishing up, too, from the truck they debuted in April. That might mean specialties like duck confit poutine frites; steak au poivre frites; vegan black bean soyrizo chili cheese frites; or country fried chicken frites with stout honey mustard. Part of the sizzle is in the sauce, with from-scratch dunkers like chile lime aioli, miso ginger aioli and jalapeño ketchup.

To join, purchase a $25 ticket at frycrawlphx.com and meet the Frites Street truck at 6 p.m. at Welcome Diner at 10th and Roosevelt streets. Then follow the truck on its tour, with a 30-minute stop and tasting at each location. Chefs will be on hand to share some of their secrets to creating the perfect fry.

Carpooling is recommended; first-time Uber customers can use an Uber code of FryCrawlPHX to get $25 off their ride.

Details: 6-9 p.m. Thursday, May 28. Welcome Diner, 924 E. Roosevelt St., Phoenix. $25. frycrawlphx.com.
