Diamondbacks' Twitter asks Rockies to get a roof

A general view as a member of the grounds crew waits during a rain delay before the game between the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field.

After two postponed games in two days, the Diamondbacks' Twitter account came up with a solution: Coors Field needs a roof.

The D-Backs' account sent this tweet to the Rockies, attaching a photo of a closed-roof Chase Field:

@Rockies So...when are you guys going to get one of these?

Many of the game's purists believe that baseball is an outdoor game because -- well -- it is. But with the Phoenix summers, that's obviously not possible if the Diamondbacks want any semblance of attendance in June, July and August. Also, nobody likes rain delays.

The Rockies joined in on the exchange and sent the D-Backs a photo of a sunset at Coors Field.

@Dbacks Why would we ever want to obstruct THIS in any way?

Well played. That's one gorgeous sunset EXCEPT the cool thing about Chase Field is that the roof opens. Maybe the Rockies forgot. Not to worry, though. The Diamondbacks had a sunset photo of their own.

@Rockies Doesn't seem to affect us too much.

The Rockies did not want to be defeated, so they responded with more sunset pics!

@Dbacks Nice try.

The Diamondbacks were not living in the past and tweeted a live photo of a rainy Coors Field. Game, set, match.

@Rockies But...

@Dbacks ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The real loser in all this is Miami's Marlins Park, which has both a retractable roof and rain delays.
