The kids are back in school, summer vacation is a memory and it’s still a bajillion degrees outside.

Squeeze in one more water-soaked getaway with Labor Day weekend specials from resorts in greater Phoenix. Swoosh down a water slide, float on a lazy river, watch movies in the pool and slurp froufrou drinks, all at a fraction of the price conventioneers and vacationers will pay when they flock here from colder climates this fall and winter.

Here are 18 deals and special events for the last blast of summer. The resorts with the splashiest holiday offerings are Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa, the Phoenician, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, the Pointe Hilton resorts and Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch.

Rates are subject to change as the holiday weekend, Sept. 5-7, draws near. The lowest rates are generally for Friday or Sunday check-in; the highest are for stays that include Saturday. Some resorts have a two-night minimum for Saturday stays. Lower rates may be available with AAA and AARP membership and other discounts.
