With election season approaching, the U.S. has plenty of hot air to blow out all 239 candles on its birthday cake this Independence Day. Although many restaurants are closed on the Fourth, others are offering deals to help celebrate. Here are 20 places with Fourth of July dining specials.

This gluten-free cafe is offering a chicken dinner that feeds six to eight people and includes one whole breaded and deep-fried chicken, eight biscuits with homemade honey butter, baked four-cheese mac 'n' cheese or garlic mashed potatoes with gravy, Jewel's Classic Slaw and an apple pie with buttery crust ($87.50). All day on the Fourth of July, these menu items are priced at $4: Frito Pie, with Fritos corn chips topped with red-chile pork, charro beans, Cheddar cheese and sour cream; and Hopper's Poppers, jalapeños halved and stuffed with a blend of four cheeses and served on a sizzling skillet. Ingo's Tasty Food/Chelsea's Kitchen

Whether you eat at the counter this July 4th or on the patio at Ingo's, enjoy $4 burgers such as the Farmer's Daughter (Dijon sauce, fol epi cheese, sauerkraut), Ingo's cheeseburger, the Paris-Texas Burger (apple-barbecue sauce, Black Creek Cheddar, Nueske's bacon, lettuce, dill pickle), each prepared with a choice of Strauss grass-fed beef or a house-made cashew veggie patty. Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza

The pizzeria is hosting a Free Faves Weekend on July 4 and 5 that includes a large pepperoni, cheese or sausage "Fave" with the purchase of any large or family-size signature, stuffed, fresh pan, Gourmet Delite or create-your-own pizza at regular menu price ($10-$14).

The Wigwam

The resort hosts the Great American Celebration 6-9 p.m. July 4 on the Patriot Golf Course. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The resort is going all out to celebrate its Freedom Fest, with events Friday to Monday. Restaurants at the Princess will host specials from breakfast through dinner. Activities include vintage air shows, concerts, performance of the national anthem with presentation of the colors, water-balloon battles, zip-line rides, a pool party, fishing derbies, pet adoptions, tie-dye shirt making, watermelon-eating contests and fireworks at 9 p.m. July 3 and 4.
