This photo mosaic is made up of over 650 photographs and front pages from our 125 years.

Doing something for 125 years will give you a sense of perspective.

That's how long The Arizona Republic has been serving Arizona – capturing the news, faces and places of the place we call home.

For our 125th anniversary, we decided to take a look at the whole thing, all 125 years of our history. Here's one remarkably cool way to look at it.

This image, called a gigapan, is a collection of more than 650 photos and scanned images from Republic history – actual pages from the newspaper and actual photos from our archives. It's 28.18 gigabytes of image data, stitched together to form one 9.98 Gigapixel sized image. But zoom in, and you'll see each one up close.

You can take some time to peruse this unique collection of images, then see lots more from our history at 125.azcentral.com. Either way, we hope you'll see what we saw: The big picture.
