An all-new "DuckTales," an animated comedy series based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, has been ordered for launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world.

Pull up your parachute pants, slap on a bracelet and make sure those Reeboks are pumped, because the 1980s are coming back.

Two cartoon series from a decade now firmly in oldies territory are returning to a TV, tablet or smartphone near you. Anthropomorphic ducks will take flight, as will an inspector whose mechanical inventions always fit under a trench coat.

The Disney Channel is reanimating "DuckTales," featuring duck triplets Huey, Dewey and Louie. Heading up the cast is Scrooge McDuck, who may or may not swim again in a vault filled with gold, based on the new economic reality.

The series, which ran in the 1980s and early 1990s, will air in 2017 on Disney XD. Other familiar character scheduled to return include loyal butler Duckworth, the adventurous pilot Launchpad McQuack, and Scrooge's archenemy Flintheart Glomgold,

And Netflix announced that it will stream a reboot of "Inspector Gadget," an animated series known for the title character's cleverly concealed inventions as well as the catchword "Wowsers."

The main character of the series, which ran from 1983 to 1986, was voiced by Don Adams in a way that mimicked Maxwell Smart, the secret agent he played in "Get Smart." The next-gen Gadget is voiced by Ivan Sherry, who has done voiceover work in video games.

The new show will be computer animated and show off gizmos that Gadget plucks from under his hat or coat.

Netflix picked up 26 episodes and will start streaming the series in late March.
