Police: Body of man found on Apache Junction road

APACHE JUNCTION — Police in Apache Junction are investigating the discovery of a body.

A call was made to a police dispatcher about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting that the body of a man has been found in the median of Apache Trail and Ocotillo.

Police officers were dispatched to the location where they confirmed the man was dead.

His name hasn’t been released yet.

Police say the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious at this time, but their investigation is ongoing.

TV news footage showed a bicycle with a mangled front wheel near the body, but it’s not immediately clear if the man had been riding that bike and got into some kind of accident.
