A Minnesota meat producer is recalling more than 89,500 pounds of beef that may be contaminated with "extraneous wood materials," according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Monday that the products up for recall include Sam's Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion items produced by Huisken Meats Co. on various dates between Nov. 19 and Dec. 9.

The products were reportedly shipped to retail locations nationwide.

The recall affects 2-pound boxes of Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia Onion with use-by dates of May 17, May 29 and June 6, 2016, and with establishment number "EST. 394A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Officials say the contaminant originated with an incoming ingredient and was discovered during production.

"There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products," the USDA said in a statement. "Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider."

Customers who purchased the recalled products are urged not to consume them. Officials say the product should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

Current recall alerts are posted on the USDA's website, www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
