This American has no interest in Trump as president

Donald Trump speaks during his campaign rally at the Phoenix Convention Center Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Phoenix. The business magnate and television personality has risen in polls recently with his unfiltered comments on illegal immigration.

Re: A.J. Lafaro’s “My Turn” column praising the candidacy of Donald Trump.

Don’t speak for me. LaFaro’s inclusive verbiage about “the American people are fed up with the direction of this country” is an erroneous statement. Conservative voters are fed up. Disenfranchised voters see no positives in any party. LaFaro does not speak for all Americans.

Calling the current establishment “elite” while touting Trump’s alleged attributes is an oxymoron.

Despite Trump’s current polling numbers, most Republicans who understand what it takes to win an election are anxiously waiting for The Donald to implode.

The GOP lost the last presidential election due in large part to the lack of support from women and minorities, specifically the Latino vote. With Trump’s recent verbal diarrhea about Mexicans, women and captured POWs, he will no doubt continue to alienate more voters and guarantee another Democrat as president should he win the nomination.

It is a sobering thought for Republicans and a free buffet for the left and late-night TV hosts. Trump may be marginally entertaining at times, but he could be catastrophic for America.
