Cool off at one of five pool parties across the Valley

When it's triple digits in the Valley, the last thing you want to do is go outside.

But throw in a swanky pool, an international DJ, frosty cocktails and an upbeat atmosphere, and you might change your mind. Here's our list of great pool parties in Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Maya Day + Nightclub

The chic day club is the place to be if you're looking for a Vegas pool-party feel. Dance in the shallow pool with other revelers, enjoy a refreshing drink at one of the bars staffed by bikini-clad bartenders, lounge on a day bed or splurge for a cabana and get access to the VIP bar behind the DJ stand that faces the pool. On Saturdays, head to the day club for the Soaked! pool party series. On Sundays, the Sound Wave series is hosted by Steve LeVine Entertainment and Disco Donnie Presents. Both feature guest DJs, including Chromeo (July 23).

Lustre Rooftop Bar

The hotel brings back its 100 Days of Summer promotion, with special bashes on holiday weekends, and the Live at Lustre series featuring bands and DJs on Saturdays and Sundays. The season kicks off Memorial Day weekend with the Start to Summer Weekend Pool Party. It features an Effen vodka tasting, a performance by Elvis Before Noon during the day Saturday and DJ Peabody spinning in the evening. Special parties include the Independence Day Pool Party, 100th Day of Summer on Labor Day weekend and the Bring Back the 80s Pool Party on July 23. Activities during the week include evening yoga on Thursdays and industry appreciation on Mondays.

Hotel Valley Ho

The retro hotel's OH Pool always has a lively atmosphere. It's open to the public every day except Saturdays and holiday weekends, which are only for hotel guests. Happy Hour Fridays feature bands from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. through July 1, including Valley favorites such as Elvis Before Noon and Afternoon Delight. Happy hour by the pool runs through September. On Recovery Sundays, live music, food and drink specials and cabana deals will make the end of your weekend stress-free. Session Saturdays, for hotel guests only, showcase DJs from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and specials on cocktails and food.

W Scottsdale Hotel

The lively and swanky hotel in the center of the new Scottsdale Entertainment District hosts a day club with a DJ every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Book a room and get into the pool party for free. W Scottsdale is offering three summer packages: the Vitamin W package, the Ultimate Girls and Guys Getaway with room discounts and party perks, and the Hometown Offer for Arizona residents.

Talking Stick Resort 

Release Pool Parties at Talking Stick Resort continue to up their talent game with Grammy award-winning DJ Skrillex (May 28), plus well-known EDM acts including Robin Schulz. Cabana rentals cost $200-$1,500 depending on the act, and day beds cost $150-$800. The dress code is fashionable swimwear, and guests are required to wear shoes/sandals, a cover-up for women and shirts for men when walking through the resort building.
