Chandler Hamilton junior first baseman Nick Brueser has been chosen the Gatorade Arizona Baseball Player of the Year.

Brueser, 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, who has already committed to Stanford, led the Huskies to the Division I championship, hitting .442 with 46 hits, 13 doubles, nine home runs, 32 runs scored and 47 RBIs.

He also walked 25 times and had an .884 slugging percentage, playing in the biggest division in the state.

He made All-Arizona as a sophomore and was part of the 2015 USA Baseball 17U National Team Development Program.

He has a weighted 4.48 grade-point average, and volunteers time as a youth coach in baseball and soccer.

The Gatorade award goes to the top player in the state who also is committed in the classroom and in the community.
