Axel and Sandrine Chagnot, owners of Le Macaron French Pastries.

Axel and Sandrine Chagnot were craving the light, delicate cookies of their French homeland. So they did the natural thing: They opened a cookie store, Le Macaron French Pastries, specializing in the ground almond and soft meringue shells stuffed with ganache, cream and fruit jams.

Located in the Scottsdale Quarter, the new shop also offers French coffee, teas, croissants, gelato and artisan chocolates. It’s part of a chain, with 27 other locations throughout the U.S. All the cookies are made in the parent company’s commissary in Florida.

More than 20 macaron flavors are available, including lavender white chocolate, lemon cream, passion fruit dark chocolate, coconut and Madagascar black vanilla.
