Minnesota at Mercury

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Talking Stick Resort Arena.

TV: FSAZ Plus.

Update: Two teams who were picked as the odds-on favorites among WNBA general managers before the start of the season will square off in Phoenix on Wednesday night. Things have changed in a hurry for the Mercury – as their 0-3 start would indicate – and they haven’t been able to live up to the preseason hype quite like the 3-0 Lynx.

The defense lacked in the team’s first two games and the Mercury have surrendered an average of 91 points over the course of three games. They have started to right the ship to an extent. In their last outing, they fell 81-80 following a jumper by Jewell Lloyd of Seattle with 2.9 second remaining.

The Lynx and Mercury have met once this season already, with the Lynx getting the better of the three-time WNBA champions 95-76 on May 14 in Minnesota.
