Phoenix police arrested three men after a home invasion and burglary at a Maryvale apartment complex late Tuesday night, authorities said.

Officers responding to calls of a burglary detained three men at the complex near 67th Avenue and Indian School, said a police spokesman, Officer Jonathan Howard. One of the men had fled the scene and forced his way into another home, police said. He held a family hostage while police searched the area but was arrested after officers checked the residence, police said. No one was injured in either incident.

None of the suspects' names was immediately released.

Howard said police have not been able to directly connect the other two men with the burglary. They were booked on unrelated charges. Police found drugs, money and guns near an SUV they believe belonged to the men. Howard said investigators believe the crime was drug-related and that a probe was under way.
