ASU baseball to wear throwback uniforms

To celebrate Arizona State baseball's 40th and final season in Packard Stadium, all seven home weekend series during the season are dedicated to honoring a different decade or aspect of Packard Stadium and the program.

This weekend ASU is honoring the teams and moments from the 1970s, including the opening of Packard Stadium on April 7, 1974.

A pregame ceremony for late coach Jim Brock and his former players will be held Saturday, and the Sun Devils will wear throwback uniforms for their game against USC.

USC at Arizona State

6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

ASU update:

ASU (15-11, 5-4 Pac-12) has won six of its past nine games and road series over No. 6 Oregon State and No. 17 UCLA. The first game at Packard Stadium was April 7, 1974, against USC and will be remembered Friday in a pregame ceremony. The late coach Jim Brock and his players from the 1970s will be honored Saturday.

USC update:

The Trojans (14-13, 3-6) were swept last weekend by No. 22 Washington, then beat Long Beach State 4-3 on Tuesday. 3B Kevin Swick is hitting a team-high .327. Wyatt Strahan (2-3, 4.47 ERA) is expected to pitch in the opener.
