Aiken Schenk attorney Stephanie Loquvam appointed to Commission on the American Jury Project

Stephanie McCoy Loquvam, a litigation attorney at Aiken Schenk, has been appointed to the American Bar Association's Commission on the American Jury Project, which is charged with performing a review of the American jury and court trial system to improve jury trials in order to make justice predictable, efficient, fair and impartial. Loquvam received her law degree from ASU's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 2011.

Promotions and Hires

Lori A. Higuera, a shareholder at Fennemore Craig in Phoenix, was appointed an at-large member of the board of governors of the State Bar of Arizona by the Supreme Court of Arizona. She is co-chair of her firm's employment and labor relations practice group, representing employers in arbitration, mediation, internal and external investigations, litigation and administrative proceedings involving the EEOC, NLRB, DOL and other governmental agencies. Higuera received her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School.

Jeffrey D. Gardner, vice-chair of the commercial litigation department at Jennings Strouss in Phoenix, has been elected chair of the Securities Regulation Section of the State Bar of Arizona. He practices in securities litigation, class actions, employment, real estate and intellectual property. Gardner received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Awards and honors

Charles Thomson, a shareholder at Gallagher & Kennedy in Phoenix, has been honored by being listed on the Top 50 Pro Bono Attorneys in Arizona for 2014 by the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education. He was nominated for the award by the Community Legal Services Volunteer Lawyers Program. He practices in commercial and real-estate litigation, products liability and professional liability. Thomson received his law degree magna cum laude from Indiana University in 1975.
