Plaza pool:The downtown Plaza has begun a multimillion-dollar renovation of its rooftop pool. Already one of the coolest pool settings in Vegas, the area will get new cabanas, daybeds, dining areas and bars. It's scheduled to open by pool season this year.

More Mariah: Additional dates have been announced for Mariah Carey's "#1 to Infinity" show at Caesars Palace. In addition to nine dates in February, 18 shows have been scheduled from June 7 through Sept. 11. Tickets start at $55 plus taxes and fees.

Pizza plays: Two downtown pizza joints have opened. Pizza Lotto at El Cortez serves pizza by the slice, along with whole pies, Italian sandwiches and salads. About a mile south on Las Vegas Boulevard, Inna Goda di Pizza has opened in the new Pawn Plaza, serving only pizza. It's from the owners of the Secret Pizza place at Cosmopolitan. A slice of cheese pizza costs $3 at both places.

Question: I’m coming to town for the Super Bowl. Where’s a good place to find proposition bets?

Answer: The “props” — bets on things like which team will score first or who will be the MVP — are available at most sports books, but Westgate’s SuperBook will have the most, with as many as 400. Other good places to scout are William Hill sports books and any of the Station casinos.
