The now-viral video of a Mustang mowing over a man on a bicycle posted to YouTube last week was unlike anything Ronnie Foster had seen before.

"This was the first time that a security footage captured something of this much interest," said Foster, whose company provides surveillance-system services.

It was his business, BlueHorse Solutions LLC, that installed the surveillance system capturing the hit-and-run.

Foster said his son, Travis, posted the video to YouTube on June 5 after getting the homeowner's permission. The incident happened April 29 outside Norton Park, near 13th Place and Hatcher Road in north Phoenix.

In the video, a man is seen riding a bike through a T-intersection and continues briefly on the roadway before doubling back. Within seconds, a red Mustang with a white racing stripe barrels through the intersection and into the bicyclist before speeding away. The man looks like a rag doll as he flips over the hood and rolls onto the ground. He was left with a fractured spine and head injuries, according to police records.

Police say Misty Lee Wilke, 43, called 911 to relay her side of the story about 30 minutes later. Wilke said she got into an argument with the man on the bike, with whom she was having a sexual relationship, when she found out he had HIV, court records show.

She said he laughed at her, and she pushed him. He swung at her with a pocketknife and cut her arm, according to police.

Wilke said she got in her car and accelerated to the point that she jumped the curb and ended up sideways in the park. According to court records, Wilke told police she accelerated through the park and across Hatcher without looking, and she didn't know who she hit.

A grand jury indicted Wilke on May 10, charging her with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident. She has pleaded not guilty.
