Arizona sends 16 baseball players to Area Code Games
How huge is the Arizona high school baseball class of 2017?
Sixteen players, led by azcentral sports' Big Schools Player of the Year Nick Brueser, were chosen to play for the Cincinnati Reds' team that represents five states for the Area Code Games, Aug. 6-10, at Blair Field in Long Beach, Calif.
The previous high for Arizona was 10 players attending the most prestigious baseball tournament in the nation for rising seniors.

College and pro scouts will be on hand to evaluate the best players in the country, as selected by Major League Baseball teams.
The Reds represent Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Hawaii.
The invitation-only tryouts were held June 16 and 17.
