Instant Pot company says some products are melting

Instant Pots were selling like hotcakes last holiday season, but one model is taking some heat.

The company announced last week that they have received several reports of some "Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicookers" overheating on Facebook.

Instant Pot said overheating could result in "localized melting damage to the underside of the product."

Instant Pot says the problem only affects five batchcodes – 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734 and 1746.

To check your product’s batchcode, locate the silver label on the bottom of the cooker.

They instructed customers to “immediately stop use of the product.”

"We want you to know that we take any problem with our products extremely seriously as safety and quality are our primary concern," the company wrote on the Facebook post. 

Instant Pot did not provide customers with replacement information but assured those affected that they can expect some news from them in the coming weeks.

“We are working cooperatively with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),” the company added.

Some customers let their frustration off in the comment section.

"It's not a few customers tho. There are countless people who have been waiting MONTHS since receiving this message as an email," Raina Lincicum wrote.

"Now you are posting the same form letter you send when anyone asks what the next step is? It was a few weeks, weeks ago. Stop resetting the clock and make this right," Katie Hughes said.

Commenting has since been turned off on the post.
