Cindy and Meghan McCain on Sunday shared on social media what appeared to be new photos of  Sen. John McCain, who has been battling brain cancer at his family's secluded cabin near Sedona.

Meghan McCain, a political commentator and co-host of ABC's The View, had said in a tweet Thursday that she was going to spend the weekend with the Arizona Republican. She told her followers she would share any "nice" video messages from them with her dad.

"Good morning coffee from Arizona! Thank you for all so much for the wonderful video messages!" she tweeted on Sunday with the photo of herself and her father.

The 81-year-old senator wears a Navy baseball cap, sunglasses, a coat and blue jeans in the picture. A smartphone rests on his leg.

On Saturday, Meghan McCain posted to Instagram a short video of the gurgling water feature that runs by the family cabin in Cornville.

Meanwhile, Cindy McCain on Saturday accepted an award on her husband's behalf at the Munich Security Conference in Germany. During the weekend, she also posted on Instagram a photo of her with the senator, taken a few weeks ago while camping.

John McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a deadly form of brain cancer, in July. He was hospitalized in December in Bethesda, Md., for a viral infection and for side effects related to chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

He returned to Arizona on Dec. 17 and has been getting physical therapy at the cabin. His Senate office has not provided a public update on his health since then, but Meghan McCain earlier this month said concerns about this year's brutal flu season have kept him in Arizona and away from Washington, D.C.

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., visited John McCain in Cornville earlier this month and reported that McCain was "working hard and gaining strength."

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a sometimes adversary of McCain's on national-security issues, also extended good wishes to McCain before a campaign event Friday in Scottsdale.

"You know, I wish him well and I hope he is able to return," Paul said.
