July has not been kind to Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Daniel Hudson.

Tuesday night, he took to Twitter to discuss it.

He tweeted: "I've never made excuses for poor play in my life. I've been brutal the last month. Absolutely awful. I know you guys don't want to hear it, but I really am exhausting all measures to get this thing right and I am going to continue to do so.

"This has been one of the most frustrating stretch of games I've ever experienced in my life. I've been through way worse than a bad month in my career though, and I will be better for it once I get it figured out.

"I appreciate everyone's nice messages through this rough patch. They've been few and far between, but trust me, they haven't gone unnoticed. You guys are the best.

"Time to take a little break from the twitterverse, however! Thanks again for your support!"

Hudson was the losing pitcher in the Diamondbacks' loss to the Brewers on Tuesday night.

The team lost 9-4. Hudson was charged with four runs in a third of an inning of work, but was pulled with two men on before Zac Curtis allowed Hudson's two baserunners to score.

“It’s tough,” Hudson said after the game. “It’s baseball. I made some good pitches (and) some not so good pitches. I pretty much threw everything where I wanted to with the exception of the breaking ball to Perez up the middle. I threw some good pitches to Braun and to Carter. They just didn’t swing at them, didn’t offer at them. I threw everything pretty much where I wanted to.”

Since June 23, a span of eight innings, Hudson has given up 25 runs (20 earned).

“It’s frustrating,” he said after the game. “I’ll try my hardest to figure this out and just can’t seem to get out of this rut right now. It’s definitely frustrating.”

Hudson is now 1-2 on the season with a 6.08 ERA. He has pitched in 42 games for the Diamondbacks, totaling 37 innings. He has allowed 15 walks and struck out 31 batters.
