Letter: What was missing from lawmaker's priorities

Jeffrey Greeson
Debbie Lesko

The Arizona Republic published a letter from Debbie Lesko, the Arizona Senate pro-tempore and Finance Committee chair for the upcoming sessions ("What to expect from me in the Senate"). In the letter, she outlined her goals for the 2017 session, which included a balanced budget, pension reform and surprise medical billing.

What was glaringly missing was even one word about education. When a top Republican Senate leader is telling you that it is not in her priorities, then you know there is no Step 2, 3 or 4, and the campaign pledge for Proposition 123 being Step 1 of many was clearly a lie.

The voters of Arizona were duped.
