How writers see Suns faring in 2017-18 (Phoenix went 24-58 last season):

azcentral sports' Scott Bordow: Suns go 35-47

He writes: "Phoenix again will be one of the worst teams in the Western Conference but all that really matters is the development of the team’s young players, in particular forwards Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender."

azcentral sports' Dan Bickley: Suns will go 30-52

He writes: "The Suns didn't do much in the offseason. Devin Booker is a rising star and Josh Jackson has a great motor, but this team needs big improvements from Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender to validate "The Timeline." And I haven't seen that yet."

azcentral sports; Jay Dieffenbach: Suns end up 33-49

He writes: "Josh Jackson has the instincts and IQ to accelerate his influence. Devin Booker, Tyson Chandler and Eric Bledsoe are constants and, if Marquese Chriss, Mike James and Troy Daniels provide useful minutes, this team can win 38-40 games."

USA TODAY Sports: Suns finish 25-57

2018 NBA MOCK DRAFTS: Intriguing options for Suns

SI.com: Suns finish 14th in West (out of 15 teams)

Ben Golliver writes: Devin Booker, 20, is both the youngest player to score 60 or more points in a game and the youngest player to warrant the “Somebody find a way to save him from the team that drafted him!” chatter. Phoenix’s roster is filled with one mistake (Tyson Chandler) after another (Brandon Knight) after another (Alex Len) after another (Dragan Bender), and yet GM Ryan McDonough sat on his hands after 2016-17’s embarrassing and unsuccessful tank job. Relegate them to the G-League.

ESPN.com: Suns will finish with 30.3 wins (15th out of 16th teams in Western Conference)

Kevin Pelton writes: "The Suns are one of the two teams projected worse on defense than the Lakers. That might undersell the defensive contributions of rookie Josh Jackson. Still, Phoenix is firmly committed to developing its young talent rather than chasing 35 wins this season -- at least for now."

CBS Sports: Suns will get 22.8 wins

Colin Ward-Henninger writes: "There's no sugar coating it -- the Suns are going to lose a lot of games. But they're probably OK with that, as they continue to try to develop young players like Devin Booker, who dropped 70 in a game last year. What they'll lack in victories, they'll make up for in youthful exuberance."

Bleacher Report: Suns will go 32-50

Adam Fromal writes: "The Phoenix Suns don't immediately seem like one of those teams doomed to be stuck in basketball purgatory for the next few years. Not after Devin Booker broke the 70-point threshold in a single game during his sophomore season. Not with so many different youthful pieces in place."

Bleacher Report's Alec Nathan has Suns going 21-61 (worst record in West).

tankathon.com predicts the Suns to end up getting the No. 4 pick in the 2018 NBA draft.
