Montini: Sixteen lying women and … Donald Trump

President Donald Trump

So, they’re all lying.

All of the women who have accused President Donald Trump of bad behavior, or worse.

Liars.

Unlike those who are accusing movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

I’ve heard a lot from men and women who want to condemn Weinstein and the “fake media” for “covering up for him,” although it was that very media – The New Yorker and The New York Times – who exposed his transgressions.

These people tell me they believe the Weinstein accusers.

And they believe the accusers of journalist and NBC contributor Mark Halperin, too.

They even bring up Bill Clinton, asking why we in the media are not concentrating on HIM and, even more so, on HILLARY.

(I’m sorry, did I miss something in November? Is Hillary Clinton president?)

But the women who are accusing Donald Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct are ALL liars.

Supporters convinced it's 'fake news'

That’s what his supporters are telling me.

That is what Trump says.

That is what his press secretary said just last week.

A reporter asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders, “Sarah, obviously sexual harassment has been in the news. At least 16 women have accused the president of sexually harassing them throughout the course of the campaign. Last week during a press conference in the Rose Garden, the president called these accusations fake news. Is the official White House position that all of these women are lying?”

Sanders answered, “Yeah, we’ve been clear on that from the beginning, and the president has spoken on it.”

Sixteen.

All liars.

Even though, as news reports have pointed out, a number of those who accused Trump of sexual misconduct reported the incidents to others right away. And this was before Trump was a presidential candidate.

“All I can say is it’s totally fake news,” Trump has said of the reports. “It’s just fake. It’s fake. It’s made-up stuff, and it’s disgraceful what happens. But that’s what happens in the world of politics.”

When news of Trump’s alleged misconduct broke during the campaign he vowed to sue the news publications that printed the story and to sue the woman who made the accusations.

He has done neither.

Still, he says, they’re all lying.

All 16 of them.

Remember that 2005 video tape?

Then again, one of the women is actually suing Trump. She is a former contestant on his TV show “The Apprentice” and she is suing Trump for defamation.

She says Trump groped and kissed her, and that he defamed her by calling her a liar.

In some ways, what the young accuser describes is what Trump himself admitted doing in his Access Hollywood conversation with Billy Bush.

Remember? It was the video tape from 2005 that made all the news just about a year ago.

In it, Trump boasts about trying to “move on” married TV host Nancy O’Dell.

“I moved on her, and I failed. I'll admit it,” Trump said. “I did try and (expletive) her. She was married … I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn't get there.”

Then, there was that other thing Trump said. The really gross thing. The thing that would actually be illegal.

Seeing a young actress he was about to meet Trump said, “I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything … Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything.”

Actually, you can’t. Not legally, anyway.

Although, according to Trump, when you’re a star they let you do it.

And if they say otherwise they’re lying.

All 16 of them.
