The highest paid player in the NFL per overthecap.com, a site that tracks NFL player contracts, is now San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo.

He makes $27.5 million in average annual salary per year (salary information as of Feb. 15, 2018).

The quarterback position dominates the list.

15 NFL players make at least $20 million in average salary per year. All of them are quarterbacks, led by Garoppolo.

40 NFL players make at least $15 million a season in salary. 22 of them are quarterbacks.

Of the 19 players that are not quarterbacks on the list, 10 of them are defensive linemen, four are linebackers, two are cornerbacks and three are wide receivers.

The Miami Dolphins' Ndamukong Suh is the highest paid defensive lineman in the NFL. The Denver Broncos' Von Miller is the league's highest paid linebacker.

They both make $19.1 million per season in average annual salary, making them the highest paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL.

The highest paid cornerback in the NFL?

The Los Angeles Rams' Trumaine Johnson, who makes $16.7 million in average annual salary.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' Antonio Brown is the highest paid wide receiver. He makes $19 million a season.

Running back: Steelers' Le'Veon Bell - $12.1 million

Safety: Kansas City Chiefs' Eric Berry - $13 million

Offensive lineman: San Diego Chargers' Russell Okung - $13.3 million

Tight end: Seattle Seahawks' Jimmy Graham - $10 million

Kicker: New England Patriots' Stephen Gostkowski - $4.3 million

Punter: Kansas City Chiefs' Dustin Colquitt - $3.75 million

Long snapper: New York Giants' Zak DeOssie - $1.2 million
