Phoenix police: Body found near Maryvale hospital investigated as homicide

Phoenix police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found outside a Maryvale hospital Sunday as a homicide, officials said.

The body was found in the grass by the hospital, near 51st and Campbell avenues, about 7 a.m., according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Mercedes Fortune. Officers pronounced the unidentified woman dead at the scene.

The woman had no external injuries, Fortune said.
