Letter: Safety Corridors are a joke

Arnold Knack
In December, the state Department of Transportation began enforcing freeway safety corridors.

This past Sunday I traveled between Avondale and Apache Junction to attend the Lost Dutchman Marathon.

On both Interstate 10 and U.S. 60 when I entered the "Safety Corridors," being a law-abiding citizen, I slowed down to the posted 65 mph and nearly got blown off the road.

No one else seemed to pay any attention and continued traveling at 75, 80, 85 and perhaps 90 mph.

I really do believe that the Department of Public Safety would be better served keeping drivers from doing 80 mph and above (although that would probably be much more dangerous for the DPS patrol officers).
