Just how ludicrous is President Donald Trump's claim that it is too costly to have transgender troops in the military?

The Washington Post provided us with a simple, irrefutable answer.

The Rand Corporation estimates that the military would spend about $8.4 million to accommodate transgender individuals who, like others who joined the armed services, are willing to give their lives for their country.

According to the the Post, the Rand study concluded: “The implication is that even in the most extreme scenario that we were able to identify … we expect only a 0.13-percent ($8.4 million out of $6.2 billion) increase in health care spending."

That number alone seems minuscule, given the billions we spend on defense.

Erectile dysfunction gets $84 million

It's gets even more so when you compare it to what the military spends on erectile dysfunction medications.

Yes, that's right.

We're talking about those little blue pills and their pals.

According to an analysis by the Military Times, as quoted in the Post, the military spends $84 million a year on erectile dysfunction treatments. That is 10 times more than it would spend on transgender members of the service.

Ten times.

Viagra alone — just the pills — costs the military (meaning taxpayers) $41.6 million.

When the folks at the Pentagon are filling out a budget, what do you suppose they file that expense under?

Ammunition?
