Montini: Andy Biggs snubs Hurricane Harvey victims

Brand new Congressman Andy Biggs, a well-known Donald Trump sycophant, apparently would like to add to his list of non-accomplishments the title of most heartless politician in Washington.
And that's saying something.
Biggs and two other Scrooge wannabes were the only members of the House to vote against the Hurricane Harvey relief bill. About $8 billion.
Biggs said he didn’t like the fact that there was a non-hurricane related piece of legislation attached.
“Shortly before today’s vote, with little time to read the final version of the package, the House attached hurricane-relief funding to ... a bill that expands the size of government and ties foreign assistance to new education programs in developing countries," Biggs said.
He's upset about being left in the dark?
Is he kidding?
Indignation over being left in the dark on legislation?
This coming from a guy who, as a leader in the state Legislature, conducted budget negotiations in secret then forced bills through through on party-line votes without any input from anyone but a small cabal of his pals.
This from a guy who helped to scuttle early replacement proposals for Obamacare because they weren’t cruel enough.
This from a guy who stalled medical coverage for 30,000 Arizona kids, holding up plans to restore KidsCare, which provided low-cost health insurance for the children of Arizona’s working poor at no cost to the state.
This from a guy who doesn’t have to worry about health care or housing or anything else after having cashed in on a $10 million sweepstakes prize.
It is difficult for a newcomer to Washington, D.C., to stand out among the throng of financially flush and morally bankrupt elected officials who work there.
Andy Biggs is making his mark.
Unfortunately.
